Product Description

David, The Founder

Ever since I was a child, because my father, who worked in the watchmaking industry for over 30 years, used to take me with him to his workshop, I've loved watches... What's more, I'm particularly passionate about design and sport. Innovating, developing and conceptualizing a sports watch while remaining highly technical and affordable, that's what I like to do.

Origin

How do you trace the origin of a legend? Many versions have been written about the “Flying Dutchman”. Here's the one I like best, and which inspired me to create the Hollander model:

The Flying Dutchman & early sketches of the Hollander by David Van Heim

This ship of the Dutch East India Company was known for making surprisingly fast journeys between Europe and Asia. Rumor had it that this unusual performance was due to the assistance of the devil, as some believed it literally flew on water. Legend has it that, after the famous vessel disappeared at sea, the crew and its captain became ghosts forever imprisoned on the ship. In exchange for immortality, the captain tore his heart from his chest to live again.

The Hollander collection takes us adrift, following this fascinating legend: its two hearts, two movements, ensure the immortality of three GMTs (Europe, Asia and the USA), each of which retraces the ghost ship's journey.

The five Hollander models offer simultaneous reading of two time zones. They are therefore designed for the man of the world, inclined to the practice of large time discrepancies.
Indispensable instruments for transcontinental travel or meetings, these timepieces have opted for a shape that rounds off the angles: a square whose sides bulge out from the torso, bowing out in their desire to offer more space.

Birth of the DVH Hollander watch

From Geneva, the David Van Heim watch brand is particularly proud to unveil five attractive GMT models offering recognizable design, affordability and, as always, high-tech expertise.

Faithful to David Van Heim's identity codes of technical expertise, design and affordability, the Hollander collection manages to slip seamlessly into the heart of the contemporary watchmaking scene, with a name that already sounds so familiar.

Subtle technicality

Punctuated laterally by two crowns, one for each movement, the Hollander is distinguished by its technical crown guard.
On the left-hand side, this original mobile mechanism, fixed to the case, can be raised at will, giving the necessary adjustments an appreciable playful dimension. Another technical subtlety: the lugs surrounding the bracelet are topped by a screw on each side.

Aesthetic and functional checkerboard dial.

Covered with a checkerboard pattern of fine raised squares, the Hollander's dial is stylish and embellished by its appliques. The large Multieyes hour is more functional, indicating the date, day and 24-hour scale, while the smaller Zone 2 is more poetic, with its arc of a circle and stylized hourglass.
