Hong Kong, 8 January 2024. Poised to kick off the trading season of the Stationery &amp; School Supplies industry, this year’s event has attracted exhibitors from 12 countries and regions including Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, the UAE, the US and Vietnam. With a wide array of international buyers also expected to be in attendance, participants are preparing for productive business at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8 – 11 January. A host of art supplies as well as school and office supplies, paper and printing products, writing instruments, and gift stationery will be on display to meet diverse sourcing needs of buyers. In addition, a series of seminars and forums will be held concurrently to promote industry development.

Environmental awareness and sustainability are playing a significant role in schools, offices and at home. In fact, the eco-friendly stationery market is projected to reach USD 13.68 billion by the end of 2030, with a CAGR of 4.8% during 2023 – 2030. As the inclination towards green stationery products becomes the key trend in the market, many manufacturers are taking the sustainable route, offering new and innovative products that prioritise the environment. Diakakis Imports SA will be presenting their MUST collection of backpacks with fabrics that are manufactured from recycled plastic bottles. As another integral part of this year&rsquo;s fair, school supplies and learning equipment are essential tools for students of all age groups and an essential part of the education system. The increasing demand for equipment that can support face-to-face and distance learning, as well as the popularity of personalised stationery, has accelerated global growth in the school stationery supplies market. The market is expected to reach USD 114.9 billion by 2028, at a CAGR of 3.6% during 2023 – 2028. Joining other exhibitors in this category, local manufacturer and product designer of phone headsets, music headphones, gaming headsets and related solutions, Accutone, are set to showcase their latest innovation at the fair: Edphones, which are specifically designed for children&rsquo;s virtual learning environments. 
Embracing innovation in stationery and school supplies 
The stationery and school supply industry is benefitting from technological advancement. To highlight this, a series of fringe events are scheduled to run in parallel with the trade fair, covering topical industry issues including the digital transformation of business, the influence of AI on the industry, and the latest design trends. Highlights include the &ldquo;Emerging market trends of stationery&rdquo; seminar, where the recipient of the Hong Kong Smart Design Award 2023, Mr Ken Lam, will share his thoughts on the latest market shifts. Additionally, representatives from ADAN Promotional Concepts will share their views on eco stationery. 
The 2024 fair will continue to receive support from prominent Asian organisations: the Malaysia Stationery Importers and Exporters Association, the Federation of Stationers and Booksellers Association of Malaysia, and new support this year from the China Stationery and Sporting Goods Association. 
 
 Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the fair will be held concurrently with the HKTDC&rsquo;s Hong Kong Toys &amp; Games Fair and the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, providing a one-stop sourcing platform and plenty of crossover business opportunities for participants.
