As global demand for luxury packaging products grows, the acclaimed World of DeLuxe PrintPack Zone at Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair will spin off and launch as a new event this year, DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong. The fair will feature a variety of printing and packaging products and solutions for luxury goods including cosmetics, wine, jewellery and watch.

The two fairs will continue to adopt the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, with the physical exhibitions held on 27-30 April at the AsiaWorld-Expo while the online platform will be available from 20 April to 7 May. With this dual offering, the HKTDC aims to help SMEs proactively seize upcoming opportunities.

The Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) Government has further relaxed the COVID-19 rules for inbound travellers by lifting the amber code restrictions. Those from overseas and Taiwan entering via Hong Kong International Airport with negative PCR test result can freely access any premises upon their arrival, including participating in exhibitions and conferences. Inbound travellers are still required to undergo nucleic acid tests on Day 2 and daily RATs for five days, and show vaccination records before entering restaurants. In addition, travellers going to the Mainland China and Macao are no longer required to undergo a PCR test at the border, but need to obtain a negative test result 48 hours before departure. Hong Kong Trade Development Council

Following consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders, the HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair and the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair (jointly organised by the HKTDC and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited) have been brought forward from the previously announced 27-30 April 2023 to 19-22 April 2023 and will be held alongside the Hong Kong Houseware Fair, the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, the Hong Kong Fashion Week, the Hong Kong International Licensing Show and Asian Licensing Conference* at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. We hope running these events concurrently will provide synergy for exhibitors and buyers, offering a convenient one-stop marketing and sourcing platform.

Above fairs will be held under new EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, which comprises physical shows, smart business matching platform Click2Match and Intelligence Hub as well as hktdc.com Sourcing. The fairs will help global traders explore business opportunities in person and online.

The Hong Kong SAR Government announced a further relaxation of quarantine measures for inbound travellers with effect from 26 Sep 2022.

Under the “0+3” scheme, inbound travellers no longer need to do the pre-flight PCR test and quarantine in a designated hotel. Considering the current pandemic situation, a decision has been made in consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders that the seven HKTDC trade fairs originally scheduled in April 2022, including the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong Houseware Fair, Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, Hong Kong Fashion Week, Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, and Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair (co-organised with CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited), will be rescheduled to July 2022.

The above seven trade fairs will be held concurrently in hybrid format and branded collectively as “HKTDC International Sourcing Show”. The physical fairs will be held in the form of display showcases and take place from 5 to 8 July 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre while the online fairs will run from 5 to 15 July 2022, offering a convenient one-stop marketing and sourcing platform to both exhibitors and buyers. With many pandemic-related travel restrictions remaining in place, exhibitors and buyers may have difficulty joining the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair scheduled for 27-30 April 2021.

To assist exhibitors and buyers in overcoming the business challenges brought by the pandemic, and after consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders, the HKTDC has decided to consolidate seven of its trade fairs scheduled for April 2021 - Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, Hong Kong Houseware Fair, Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, Hong Kong Fashion Week, Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, and Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair (co-organised with CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited), into a sourcing event entitled “HKTDC International Sourcing Show”. This will be held in digital and physical formats:

• Digital fair date: 17 March - 29 July 2021
• Physical fair date and venue: 26-29 July 2021 ▪ Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

With this arrangement, industry players will be able to use the HKTDC’s dedicated online exhibition platform to attract early interest with business matching and virtual meetings in March, and to follow on with more business opportunities from the physical fair in July when the pandemic will hopefully subside.

As part of its anti-pandemic measures, the Hong Kong SAR government announced on 2 June that the compulsory 14-day quarantine of persons arriving in Hong Kong from overseas will be extended until 18 September. The extension of this restriction means that overseas exhibitors and buyers will have great difficulty joining the Summer Souring Week* in July. Following discussions with industry representatives, HKTDC has decided to migrate the physical exhibition to virtual platform, Summer Sourcing Weeks | Go ONLINE, to enable companies to continue exploring business opportunities.

Despite the global pandemic, sourcing demand is strong and industry players are eager to join the Summer Sourcing Week. The fair has already attracted some 2,000 global exhibitors and more than 10,000 international buyers. We believe that the Summer Sourcing Weeks | Go ONLINE is going to help buyers and suppliers to alleviate business challenges, while the online business matching service will create even more opportunities for participants.
