The Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) Government has further relaxed the COVID-19 rules for inbound travellers by lifting the amber code restrictions. Those from overseas and Taiwan entering via Hong Kong International Airport with negative PCR test result can freely access any premises upon their arrival, including participating in exhibitions and conferences. Inbound travellers are still required to undergo nucleic acid tests on Day 2 and daily RATs for five days, and show vaccination records before entering restaurants. In addition, travellers going to the Mainland China and Macao are no longer required to undergo a PCR test at the border, but need to obtain a negative test result 48 hours before departure. Hong Kong Trade Development Council

Following consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders, the schedule for the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and the International ICT Expo has been slightly adjusted from 13-16 April 2023 to 12-15 April 2023. The fairs will be held alongside the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. We hope running these events concurrently will provide synergy for exhibitors and buyers, offering a convenient one-stop marketing and sourcing platform.

Above fairs will be held under new EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, which comprises physical shows, smart business matching platform Click2Match and Intelligence Hub as well as hktdc.com Sourcing. The fairs will help global traders explore business opportunities in person and online.

Considering the current pandemic situation, a decision has been made in consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders that the seven HKTDC trade fairs originally scheduled in April 2022, including the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong Houseware Fair, Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, Hong Kong Fashion Week, Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, and Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair (co-organised with CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited), will be rescheduled to July 2022.

The above seven trade fairs will be held concurrently in hybrid format and branded collectively as “HKTDC International Sourcing Show”. The physical fairs will be held in the form of display showcases and take place from 5 to 8 July 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre while the online fairs will run from 5 to 15 July 2022, offering a convenient one-stop marketing and sourcing platform to both exhibitors and buyers. With many pandemic-related travel restrictions remaining in place, exhibitors and buyers may have difficulty joining the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) scheduled for 13-16 April 2021. After consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders, the HKTDC has decided to hold the next Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) on 13-16 April 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and electronicAsia, jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, will be held concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13-16 October 2021, as planned.

To assist exhibitors and buyers in overcoming the business challenges brought by the pandemic and explore business opportunities across various industries, a sourcing event ─ HKTDC International Sourcing Show* ─ will be held next year in digital and physical formats:

With this arrangement, industry players will be able to use the HKTDC’s dedicated online exhibition platform to attract early interest with business matching and virtual meetings in March, and to follow on with more business opportunities from the physical fair in July when the pandemic will hopefully subside.

We believe the online-offline model of International Sourcing Show will create synergy, and assist exhibitors and buyers to make early arrangements to cope with the post-pandemic “new normal”.

As part of its anti-pandemic measures, the Hong Kong SAR government announced on 2 June that the compulsory 14-day quarantine of persons arriving in Hong Kong from overseas will be extended until 18 September. The extension of this restriction means that overseas exhibitors and buyers will have great difficulty joining the Summer Souring Week* in July. Following discussions with industry representatives, HKTDC has decided to migrate the physical exhibition to virtual platform, Summer Sourcing Weeks | Go ONLINE, to enable companies to continue exploring business opportunities.

Despite the global pandemic, sourcing demand is strong and industry players are eager to join the Summer Sourcing Week. The fair has already attracted some 2,000 global exhibitors and more than 10,000 international buyers. We believe that the Summer Sourcing Weeks | Go ONLINE is going to help buyers and suppliers to alleviate business challenges, while the online business matching service will create even more opportunities for participants. Event details will be announced in due course.

The HKTDC will inform the exhibitors and buyers concerned of the rescheduling, with detailed arrangements of the July fairs to be shared in due course.
