We have been participating in this show for more than 10 years. Compared to other international shows, this one serves as a gateway to the mainland China market. We are trying to achieve sales of around US$200,000 at each show. On the first day, we’ve made around 10 deals.
We had five transactions totaling US$40,000 on the first day of the show. Four of our buyers were new customers and one of them was a recurring buyer. They were from Japan, Taiwan, the US, and Russia respectively. The timing and location of the show is good, particularly because of its close proximity to China, which opens up significant economic opportunities.
On the first day of the show, our booths under the Colombian Pavillion had around 300 visitors. 30% were from Europe, 20% were from China, and the rest were from Southeast Asia and the Middle East. We expect to have sales ranging from US$7,000,000 to US$20,000,000 for booths under the Colombian Pavillion at the HKTDC show. Our average sales usually reach around US$12,000,000 to US$15,000,000 by the end of the show, based on our experience in previous shows.
I met many buyers from the Middle East and USA. New features like a prayer room and halal food help Muslim clients feel comfortable, enhancing the exhibition experience.
This exhibition provided me with opportunities to meet new buyers from Eastern Europe, including Belarus, and regular customers from the USA, Switzerland and Australia. If we don’t come to Hong Kong for this exhibition, we will be losing a huge sales opportunity.
Within the first 2 hours of the show, we have connected with over 50 buyers from Europe, US and Middle East. I’ve observed at the exhibition that rice pearls have gained popularity over the past two years, suggesting that diversification may be a key market trend for the future.
The event has attracted buyers from Asia, Europe, and the US for our booth. One of the biggest advantages of attending this show is to reconnect with our existing customers.
I have about 40 members who exhibit at our pavilion. . I am here to let people know about the International Colored Gemstone Association and its gemstone dealers. The Asian market is very big and one of the most important jewelry markets. It is much easier to see Asian buyers in these shows than somewhere else in the world.
We successfully matched with four businesses this time through HKTDC, from which we purchased colored stones from one of them. They are from the US, Madagascar, Hong Kong, and India. We spent US$$ 20,000 on one of the suppliers. I am sure we will collaborate with him in the long term.
This fair allows me to connect with manufacturers and supply chains. This fair provides everything I need, from sourcing to manufacturing and all related services. I expect to spend US$200,000 at the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and at least US$250,000 at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.
We plan to spend around US$2000 or US$3000 on stones. We have attended fairs in Italy and Russia, but this one is the largest and presents a huge opportunity for us. For our company, it’s the best exhibition.
On the first day, we have made transactions with Japanese and Chinese exhibitors, placing orders for various types of pearls with a total value of around US$ 50,000. We used the Click2Match app to initiate contact with different pearl suppliers. After initial introductions via the app, we meet with these companies in person to discuss and possibly finalize deals.
There are so many to see in the fair. I anticipate spending possibly around US$100,000 to US$150,000.
On the first day, we placed an order totaling US$ 40,000-50,000. I like the exhibitors from Brazil, Japan, Sri Lanka which showcase good finished goods. I also like the Japanese showcasing their antique and vintage jewelry. This fair serves as a one-stop procurement platform where I can find people across all sectors and specialties.
I have already placed orders with two Japanese exhibitors and one from a Hong Kong exhibitor. I ordered one exclusive piece of Emeralds amounting to US$ 35,000 from KAWAMURA Co., Ltd, while a total of US$ 10,000 worth of Sapphires and Rubies was ordered from Kishun, Inc. Another order for US$ 9,500 worth of diamonds has been confirmed from Net Japan (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.
During the fair, I spent a total of US$ 80,000 on finished diamonds, including some accessories and diamond-cutting services. Most of them were sourced from Belgian and Hong Kong exhibitors. The marketplace app is very helpful for me to skip the queue.
I found the Click2Match business matching service to be very helpful. The ability to conduct research beforehand allowed me to create a shortlist of businesses that align with our model, significantly speeding up the process.
