Twin jewellery shows attract some 81,000 buyers from across globe, creating world-class trading platform
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 40th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 10th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show gathered over 4,000 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions. The Jewellery Show concluded at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today and the Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show closed at AsiaWorld-Expo on Saturday, marking the successful return of the “two shows, two venues” format for the first time since the pandemic.
Winning designs raise curtain on jewellery shows
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 40th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 10th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show are being held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo respectively. The award ceremony of the 25th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, a key event of the twin jewellery shows, was held at the HKCEC today, paying tribute to the outstanding creativity of local talents. Jewellery industry players can admire the winning designs at the display in Hall 1E.
HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show opens at HKCEC today
The 40th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and will run for five days, until Monday, 4 March. The 10th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show opened on Tuesday (27 February) at AsiaWorld-Expo and runs until Saturday, 2 March. The twin jewellery shows return in the Two Shows, Two Venues format for the first time since the pandemic, attracting over 4,000 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions, and over 100 buyer missions from 65 countries and regions.
HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show opens at AsiaWorld-Expo today
The 10th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), opened today, showcasing a wide range of diamonds, gemstones and pearls – raw materials for jewellers. At the opening ceremony this afternoon, Dr Bernard Chan, Hong Kong SAR Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, was the Guest of Honour. The 40th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, dedicated to finished jewellery, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Thursday onwards.
Twin jewellery shows return in ‘two shows, two venues’ mode
The 40th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 10th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will return to the two fairs, two venues format for the first time since the pandemic, presenting the world’s premier jewellery trade platform. The Diamond, Gem & Pearl show will run at AsiaWorld-Expo from 27 February to 2 March, while the Jewellery Fair will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 29 February to 4 March, bringing sourcing and global trade opportunities for industry players.
First major trade fair since re-opening signals Hong Kong comeback
Following Hong Kong’s lifting of the mandatory mask mandate and full resumption of travel, business people from around the world flocked to the city’s first major trade fair. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 39th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the 9th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show gathered over 2,500 exhibitors and successfully concluded today. The five-day fairs attracted over 60,000 buyers from 130 countries and regions, with significant increase in participation from Mainland China and the Asia region. In an on-site survey with around 700 exhibitors and buyers, about 60% exhibitors and buyers expected their business to return to pre-pandemic levels in one year, reflecting a positive outlook for the jewellery sector.
Twin jewellery shows open today as a new round of trade fairs since return to normalcy
Social distancing measures came to an end, as the mask mandate was officially lifted today, expediting the recovery of business activities between Hong Kong, Mainland China and the rest of the world.
Jewellery twin shows burnish Hong Kong image
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSAR) has removed restrictions on travel between Hong Kong and Mainland China and lifted vaccination requirements for overseas visitors to the city. The moves will boost global trade between Hong Kong, Mainland China and the world at large. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has been actively promoting the territory’s advantages through different channels and exhibitions. The 39th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 9th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, organised by the HKTDC, will be staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 1-5 March 2023 – as a launch pad for a new round of trade fairs to help Hong Kong companies capture global business opportunities.
Twin jewellery shows and Simply Shopping Fest conclude
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 38th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, the 8th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the inaugural Simply Shopping Fest have all concluded successfully. The three public shows attracted more than 80,000 visitors appreciating and purchasing fine jewellery pieces, in addition to buying gourmet food and wine and household items. The concurrent events featured livestreaming sessions hosted by key opinion leaders (KOLs), offering more opportunities for exhibitors to showcase their products as well as creating a more engaging experience – covering shopping, leisure and entertainment – for the general public. The broadcasts received an enthusiastic response.
Jewellery Design Competition winning pieces go on display
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 38th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 8th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show are fully open to the public at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) until 2 August. As one of the highlight events this year, the 23rd Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition award presentation ceremony was held on the opening day of the shows. The winning pieces – all locally designed and of exceptional craftmanship – are on display at the Hall 3FG Concourse of the fairground for the appreciation of visitors and exhibitors.
