Food Expo and inaugural Food Expo PRO open today
Four concurrent events bring exquisite delicacies and spark joy for public
The 33rd Food Expo, the seventh Beauty & Wellness Expo, the ninth Home Delights Expo, along with the inaugural Food Expo PRO and the 14th Hong Kong International Tea Fair jointly and officially opened today. Deputy Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Michael Wong (centre) officiated at the opening ceremony, joined by Dr Peter K N Lam, Chairman of the HKTDC (front row, fourth from right), Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the HKTDC (front row, fourth from left), and other distinguished guests.
Officiating guests at the opening ceremony of the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM) include (front row, from left): Professor Xu Hongxi, Chairman, ICMCM 2023 Organising Committee; Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the HKTDC; Dr Libby Lee, Under Secretary for Health of the HKSAR Government; Professor Huang Luqi, Vice-Commissioner of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, President of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering; Lawrence Lo, President, Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association; and Professor Feng Yibin, Chairman, ICMCM 2023 Organising Committee.
The Trade Hall of the Food Expo has been renamed to Food Expo PRO. The first two days of the Expo are open to trade buyers while the last day (19 August) of the Expo will be open to both the public and trade buyers.
The first two days of the Hong Kong International Tea Fair are open to trade buyers while both the public and trade buyers are welcome to visit the Expo on the last day of the event (19 August). The Tea Fair showcases famous teas, tea products and tea wares from different regions and various pavilions, facilitates tea cultural exchanges.
Starting from today until 21 August, the five-day Food Expo opens for the public to visit. On the opening day, the Public Hall of the Food Expo once again attracted huge crowds.
With seven thematic zones, the Gourmet Zone of the Food Expo is a favourite amongst those who are in search of fine dining. Among the thematic zones, the new Wine Whisky Wonderland zone introduces fine wines from all over the world.
The Beauty & Wellness Expo features some major pavilions hosted by the Federation of Beauty Industry (H.K.), Hong Kong Hair & Beauty Merchants Association, International Beauty & Health General Union, Cosmetic & Perfumery Association of Hong Kong Ltd, and Hong Kong China Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness Limited, there will be new pavilions presented by the International CICA Association of Esthetics and Association of International Aesthetics Management, showcasing a wide range of Hong Kong-made beauty and skincare products to satisfy consumers who are looking for both beauty and fitness.
The Home Delights Expo’s Avenue of Delights presents a wide range of new home appliances and home furnishings from a variety of home lifestyle brands.
