The Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) Government has further relaxed the COVID-19 rules for inbound travellers by lifting the amber code restrictions. Those from overseas and Taiwan entering via Hong Kong International Airport with negative PCR test result can freely access any premises upon their arrival, including participating in exhibitions and conferences. Inbound travellers are still required to undergo nucleic acid tests on Day 2 and daily RATs for five days, and show vaccination records before entering restaurants. In addition, travellers going to the Mainland China and Macao are no longer required to undergo a PCR test at the border, but need to obtain a negative test result 48 hours before departure. In view of the latest epidemic situation, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has tightened various disease prevention and control measures and extended entry restrictions for incoming visitors, while many countries and regions have also issued travel alerts and implemented quarantine measures. These mean that overseas exhibitors and buyers will have great difficulty joining the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) scheduled for 27-30 October 2020.
After consultation with industry representatives and key stakeholders, a decision has been made to migrate the Fair online, consolidating with other fairs into HKTDC Autumn Sourcing Week | ONLINE. The online exhibition will be held from 16 to 27 November 2020, enabling the industry to continue exploring business opportunities.
With the successful conclusion of Summer Sourcing Weeks|Go ONLINE (SSWGO) recently, we believe Autumn Sourcing Week | ONLINE (ASWO) will carry on the momentum to assist global exhibitors and buyers overcome some of the challenges during these trying times. The business matching and virtual meeting features offered by ASWO will help boost business connections. Details will be announced in due course.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to exhibitors, group pavilions, industry associations and buyers from around the world for their tremendous support for HKTDC events. We will continue to make every effort to help companies capture business opportunities through different platforms.
