The Hong Kong Fire Services Department is taking part in the Education & Careers Expo once more to promote our recruiting drive and engage with the general public. We intend to recruit more people to join us and allow them to gain a deeper understanding of our responsibilities by outlining the job responsibilities and difficulties as well as exhibiting many facets of our fire services operations and equipment at the Fire Services Department. We've introduced an "Ethnic Minority Development Program" this year since we've found that minority students who are interested in this field require additional support to join our forces. This year's Expo has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from visitors. Countless young individuals have come to our booth to learn more about the qualifications for our open positions and have expressed interests in applying. The on-site eye and fitness exams are available to anyone interested in joining us which has received a lot of attention. The fair has allowed us to effectively locate many possible candidates, and we have hired numerous of our best team players through this Expo each year. We are thrilled to be able to be a part of this and the experience is definitely enlightening.
This is the first time that the Coffee Project is taking part in the Education & Careers Expo. We would like the public individuals from all walks of life to learn more about coffee and what it takes to be a skilled barista through this exhibition. In order to provide them with professional coffee education and information about coffee in each process of brewing, we arranged coffee taste testing and an introduction to our coffee training services. We have a great opportunity to educate the public about coffee culture through this expo and offer them hands-on contact, especially with the current rise in popularity in coffee. A significant number of people have express interest in the hobbyists' course and in barista coffee training. We appreciate the organizer's efforts in bringing various student groups to the booths so we could spark their interests. Besides, many members of the general public have also come here to learn more about our services. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the quantity of visitors and their responses.
As Form 5 students in Hong Kong, we'll be taking the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) Examination a year from now, therefore it is time for us to look at continuing education options as well as future careers. After hearing about it from the school and teachers, we are now attending the Education & Careers Expo for the first time. Throughout the exhibition, I discovered a lot about the numerous useful programs offered by Hong Kong's higher education institutions. Thanks to this fantastic display, I now understand professional development and continued education better, and it even gave us ideas for potential careers! This experience has unquestionably been very helpful.
As a current form 5 student in Hong Kong, I visited the Education & Careers Expo in search of new knowledge and possibly potential job chances. I was particularly interested in local tertiary education and its pathways, and the expo offered a lot of institutions for us students to explore and learn more about. I didn’t consider studying abroad originally, however, I was pleasantly pleased by the sophistication of the Malaysian and Singaporean exhibitors, which prompted me to explore studying in those countries. Furthermore, the forums arranged by HKTDC were interesting. This exhibition is one that I'd suggest to others.
