The Rise of Cultural and Creative Licenses

Cultural and creative contents have emerged to become ubiquitous licenses pervading merchandises and services of our everyday lives. Aside from the market drives, governments are also supporting their museums, galleries and libraries to turn their collections of arts, paintings, photographs, publications and cultural heritages into digital archives for licensing use.

Clearly, the booming social media, growing open data application and promotion of sharing economy have largely expanded the reach of culture and creative contents to business and consumers. The movement ignites the creations of derivative licenses, and even turns consumers into content creators and licence owners, bringing new challenges and opportunities to the licensing space.

In this session, industry pioneers will discuss the latest development of cultural and creative contents and unveil the huge business opportunities in transforming these contents into licenses.
